One of the classic Meeting Street properties built within the original Grand Model of Historic Charleston, the circa 1788 Single House is noted for its unusual height, three and a half stories above the basement. Featuring grand ceiling heights, mahogany window sills, doors, chair railings, cypress paneling, and interior window shutters, it retains the integrity of its original lustre, at the same time supplying amenities for today. A lush period garden added in the 1980s enhances the charm, complementing a separate three-story kitchen house containing some 1,658 square feet. Most memorable of all, though, is the second-floor drawing room, a fine exemplar of Adam-style plaster work ornamentation.
