Robert is the Co-founder and a Partner of Regency-Christie’s International Real Estate, operating as one of the firm’s Senior Brokers and Real Estate Advisors. Originally from London (United Kingdom), Robert is a Citizen of the Turks and Caicos Islands, having now resided in the TCI for almost 40 years after his father came to the Islands to establish the country’s first major resort. Robert has also lived in the United States, working with a prominent development company operating out of the Southern U.S. This, Robert feels, provides not just a credible experience level within the Islands but also a very clear understanding of the Islands’ buyer demographic, who are primarily from the U.S. and Europe.
Robert’s extensive background includes almost every aspect of the real estate industry. With veteran knowledge and proficiencies in high-value sales, resort management and development, and offshore investment, he has more than 35 years of personal work experience within the Turks and Caicos Islands. His portfolio of development includes golf courses, condominiums, colleges, and hotel resort projects. Robert’s background in the Islands’ Condo Resort industry gives him a unique and invaluable insight into one of the Islands’ top real estate sectors, allowing him to share his in-depth insight with his clients for an extensive understanding of the investment potential it provides. Also, Robert’s key experiences have allowed him to develop several new villa resort projects, specifically on Grace Bay Beach, one of the world’s best beaches, a very popular and desirable market sector with his clientele. With this Robert has been able to increase the exposure of his real estate portfolio dramatically.
Being affiliated with Christie’s International Real Estate for almost a decade now, Robert has gained invaluable experience in the luxury real estate market. Be it marketing, positioning and sales of high-value properties, or understanding his buyers’ needs and desires, Robert guides them through the buying process with experience, professionalism, and trust. He understands the financial needs of today’s offshore real estate investor and can clearly and efficiently service all of his clients’ requests, either through personal knowledge or through his network of industry professionals he has worked with over the years. It’s not enough to just understand the real estate we represent, Robert says. We must understand so many related aspects, such as the Turks and Caicos Islands Tax Friendly status, or the residency privileges afforded those who buy properties in the TCI, and how this applies to our clients, both in the Islands and at home.
Robert has a deep understanding of the local market and culture and is passionate about sharing all that the TCI has to offer to both the local and international communities. He is a member and past President of the Turks and Caicos Real Estate Association (TCREA). The Turks and Caicos Islands is a jewel within the chain of Caribbean islands, Robert notes, as one of the more easily accessible English-speaking destinations that uses the U.S. Dollar for its currency. While undoubtedly one of the best locations for offshore real estate investment based on its Tax Friendly status, residency laws, and the security afforded by being a British Territory, it is the stunning turquoise waters and powdery-soft white sand beaches—which have been voted some of the very best in the world—that attract so many to its shores. “It is not my job to sell,” Robert adds. “The islands have already sold themselves. It is however, my job and my pleasure to guide my clients through the process of acquiring their own piece of Paradise.”
