North Carolina

Diane Lea joined NC Estates in the early 1990s as Preservation Director. Specializing in distinctive and historic properties located across North Carolina, NC Estates was a Charter Member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation Historic Real Estate Program and initially represented Sotheby’s International Realty properties as their affiliate in all of North Carolina’s 100 counties.

As Preservation Director of NC Estates, Diane has continued to concentrate on marketing historic properties. With technical and brokerage assistance from Harry Branch and Owen Gwyn, Diane has successfully marketed many of North Carolina’s most significant historic homes, including the Lineberger Estate in Belmont, North Carolina, designed by Charlotte architect C. C. Hook; Belle Vue in Hillsborough, North Carolina, one of the region’s most interesting properties combining a full facade Italianate porch and the earliest historic brick kitchen surviving in Hillsborough; and Chatwood, a historic tavern dating from the early 1800?s and characterized by a nationally important garden. Newly streamlined and refocused, NC Estates has remained true to its commitment to showcase North Carolina’s fine architecture.
