The owners wanted to evoke childhood memories of summers in a 1930s New England coastal farmhouse. Choosing a nautical 337-foot waterscape along Lake Washington near Seattle in Medina that rekindled the mood perfectly, they commissioned Tom Bosworth to invigorate the breathtaking Northwest Eden with some 10,000 square feet of main residence and guesthouse with everything from wide-open fir-planked gathering rooms to a cozy theater and futuristic bowling alley. A?haven where fragrant blooms and birdsong awaken the mornings and where, as in childhood, a kayak beckons at water’s edge, the slate-roofed clapboard hideaway fulfilled the dream.
