Offered at $3,895,000

Built by Henry Laurens to replace an original dwelling destroyed in the earthquake of 1886, Charleston’s historic Henry Laurens House was a five-year labor of love. Fashioned in the French Second Empire style with a high mansard roof, it was reconfigured to the Colonial Revival style with a gable roof in 1937. It remains a cherished part of the city’s past with its double piazzas, splendid public rooms, array of bedroom areas, and a third-floor apartment with a living room, kitchen, and private entrance.
